THE RED SENSE

THE RED SENSE

——————————————————————————–
Phnom Penh, 20-Dec-04

Well, today I got a synopsis script from Tim, The Red Sense,it took me about 15 minutes to through the whole story, let me introduce right away, Tim is the name of Cambodian writer, who wrote The Red Sense has been living in Melbourne, Australia, since I don’t know exactly for how long. his full name is Tim Pek. Physically, His outside looks has changed as western man being within a past many years living abroad, but the fact reflects the truth of him. Morally, inside he is still the same person, real feeling of loving his country, Cambodia. According to above mentioned story he has a creative idea to invent real dramatics story and has been striving to inwrap into a film, spectacle the sadness of Cambodian peoples during Pot pot regime. To satisfy spectors who gonna watch this film, a great song titled CAMBODIA were sung in English by Cambodian guy about Cambodia, Jimmy Lundy, who were born and grew up in the same place as Tim. In addition, the singer languidly tell how his feeling has been felt about his gorgeous country and the thanksgiving. I can tell it’s impressive song I’ve ever heard. By the way, the writer contemplatively to reveal savage situation that had been held by Khmer Rouge in Pot pot regime, it’s impossible to learn that these shameful human being, it was real dramatics which most Cambodian peoples has been remembered and it has been dedicated itself to becoming as a history exists in their brain.

Refer to the speech of Khmer Rouge mentioned in this film, sounds murderous, it’s incredible to believe how were they born, are they human being? I figured and strongly believe it’s desperately wrong vision that they had done in that period, to execute innocent peoples unreasonably. Only god has the right to take away life, human being should not kill human being, even if a criminal has committed horrible crimes, they does not have the right to execute him or her. As they didn’t think about the consequence of their action, this makes them itself guilty of murder. Since the film proves the fact of the past. 59 year olds Mr. Kong Sombath, one of the innocent Cambodian people were killed in Pot pot regime. He had not scared of the death that moved up to him at all, time’s up! said the Khmer Rouge. Of course, nobody could turn back the time nor suppressed savage feeling of Khmer Rouge peoples or change their mind either whenever they wanted to do something. Whereas, Mr. Sombath had no excuse, but to accepted the execution with dried bitter smile. Meantime, he tried to show us how he felt in that horribly circumstance through a poem in his heart. In all honesty, we should not hide any longer, the writer contemplated to includes a poem to the spectors what made Mr. Sombath did not want to think about the disasters he had experienced during Pot Pot regime. In fact his poem had started out while he was raising his chin to see the heaven above in the killing field as below mentioned.:

Through my miserable eyes,
I see nothing, but only skies
Lonely road the death,
where’s my family and my country
Heaven knows where I belong

Who must leave or surely die
Put me on a train of life, in the pouring rain
Say farewell but don’t say good bye

Seagull carry me, over these ocean tears,
mountain bones and river bloods
to my lovely land, old folk and sea

Where I want to be,
Every beat of my heart tear me further apart
I’m lost and lonely in the dark
I’m going home, go back to where I were

One more color of butterfly
Just for Auld Lang syne
And my little daughter I left behind

How I miss her now in my darkest hour
And the way our arms entwine
And I’ll drink a toast,
to the blood of my red sense

Cheer awhile the emerald isle
And to the Cambodian light
And the swirling pipes
How they make a grown man cry.

Everyday I hear a different story
Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
Air was beautiful then

I remember the time I knew
What happiness was
Let the memory live again

Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn’t give in
when the dawn comes

Tonight will be the memory too
And the new day will begin

When doubt ended smoky days
The stale cold smell of the morning
The street lamp dies,
another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me it’s easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
of my day in the sun

If you touch me
You’ll understand what happiness
I’ve ever had in my lovely country

on my Ancient land
with my great family and peoples
Look a new day has begun

Midnight not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory
She is smiling alone in the lamplight

The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begun to moan.
Everything gone with the wind

Keeps only a name of my birthplace
remaining in my heart,
wherever, whatever…

Cambodia, I love you so,
without you there no me,
and you always be my friend
some day we’ll meet one again
Oh oh my Cambodia…

The execution were just begun.
